Mathematical Modelling and Simulation of liquid steel flow phenomena and temperature distribution in an optimized tundish design of a continuous caster

The objective of this study was to analyze the fluid flow molten steel in a continuous casting tundish using numerical simulations for better inclusion floatation and its separation. geometry designed Autodesk FUSION 360 analysis were performed on ANSYS FLUENT. investigations done steady-state as well transient conditions. To scale back vortexing turbulence within tundish, turbo stoppers modulators, e.g. dam weirs placed an optimized efficient inside behavior spacious structure explored. strategic placements modifiers produced higher recess region resulting turbulent withinside inlet tundish. Thereby more homogeneous is formed with conditions particle Analysing we have determined tracking method form dense discrete phase modelling along multiphase eulerian-lagragian model. Reduction dead volumes achieved spatial due intermixing which further reduced metal loss increased yield analysis. Analyzing eddy formations made it easy evenly distributes flow-induced shear. This lesser free surface less reduction liquid surface.
